Hopkins reward smart driver with smart attire

We have rewarded the impressive driving performance of employee Ash Robilliard with a stylish new Mercedes jacket.

Ash’s use of the engine brake over the wheel brakes at a ratio of 10:1, with cruise control being used for 53% of the time, has resulted in an admirable average drive consumption of 7.8 miles per gallon — not bad for an 8-wheeled mixer!

We have been promoting HGV careers as a profession, hoping to tackle the industry wide issue of driver shortages. We are continuing to invest in a healthy, happy workforce, with a new fleet of trucks and incentives for good work.

Presenting Ash with the jacket, Nathan Hopkins said: “Ash has consistently ranked as the highest performing driver on a Hopkins vehicle for 2015, and we wanted to show our appreciation for his excellent work ethic.

“Ash has shown excellent driving skills, taking on board all the specialist Mercedes driver training made available to the firm as part of the package of buying 59 new trucks throughout 2015. He has also taken great pride in keeping his vehicle clean and generally shown he has great pride in his work.”

Ash has also broken targets for fuel efficiencies set by the government four years ahead of time — setting an example to other HGV businesses.
